I want to identify and understand that "when we speak about fashion, we don't speak just about clothes, by fashion we mean the surface of the multiple process in society either in human condition, mentality and also culture". -Ewelina Dziewiela
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas; the way we live, what is happening". -Coco Chanel

Venture Into Vogue!

On May 24th I presented my Sr. Project in an alleyway in Bellingham, WA. I designed and constructed 35 garments + reconstructed 5 pieces from used clothing items. The focus of this project was to create a line that is completely sustainable, therefore, no new material was purchased. All the material used in the creation of the clothing was donated to me as well as saved from being thrown away. The show was presented in an alley in order to bring fashion into the community and to express that fashion needs to be accessible to everyone.
Through the process of constructing the garments, I focused on creating pieces as a form of artistic practice rather than a skill or trade to be used in an industry in order to make a profit. Here are some initial photographs, more will be posted soon!
